In mountain bikes without a motor, Stevens has said goodbye to the Fully segment. However, the Hamburg company is still making its mark in the e-mountain bike segment with the E-Inception ED 8.7.1 GTF.
The Performance Line CX from Bosch shows impressively that they shouldn't be limited to DIY and household products. The very natural motor control and the progressive power output characterise the character of the Bosch motor. This great combination mixed with lots of power, is something only a few other motors at Bosch's level can achieve. Whoever likes to go on long rides will be pleased with the very good range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the E-Inception ED 8.7.1 GTF in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (6000) .

In the about 6500€ price range, most manufacturers use aluminium as the frame material. With a carbon frame, Stevens turns the weight screw and sets itself apart from the competitors. The frame on entry-level was stingy with control. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. Bad brakes reduce the riding pleasure. Fortunately, this is not the case with the E-Inception ED 8.7.1 GTF. With their four pistons and 2 disc brakes the SRAM brake brakes good. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Stevens E-Inception ED 8.7.1 GTF

With a very strong range and a good motor the E-Inception ED 8.7.1 GTF counts among the better climbers on the market. This emphasizes its fun factor on long tours on insanely technical trails. Nevertheless, a mediocre groupset also give cause for criticism. We have to stay honest. Warning when choosing size: The E-Inception ED 8.7.1 GTF sizing runs small. Praise-worthy: 5 years of Warranty on the Frame!
