With 180 mm of travel at the fork, the question of the range of use seems almost ridiculous. This bike wants to shred the gnar.
In the automotive and motorcycle world, Japan has always had a reputation for being a breeding ground for excellent engines. Shimano is doing its utmost to live up to this reputation in the e-bike world with the EP8 engine. Also seemingly hopeless inclines the Shimano motor easily climbs up well Even though the EP8 doesn't reach the performance of a Bosch CX Motor at maximum output, for example.. The Shimano EP8 provides a well-rounded riding experience with a harmonious power delivery. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the E-Inception FR 9.7.2 GTF are no problem.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Stevens E-Inception FR 9.7.2 GTF in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (7000) .

Carbon frames are rather the exception in the price range of about 7000€. With the carbon fibre chassis, Stevens thus sets clear accents compared to the aluminium competitors. The low-grade chassis transfers shocks relatively clearly to the biker. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. When it comes to the brakes, Stevens reaches for the top shelf and instals premium brakes with four pistons and 2 millimeter rotors from Shimano. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. When it comes to the geometry, Stevens does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. Due to the short chainstays and the shallow seat angle , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Stevens E-Inception FR 9.7.2 GTF

The E-Inception FR 9.7.2 GTF is a real multitool for tours on insanely technical trails. Although there is still room for improvement at a weak chassis and a mediocre groupset. Nevertheless, with a very good brake system, a good motor and a good geometry make it a capable Enduros from Stevens with a very wide range of use. Check the geometry table carefully before buying: The E-Inception FR 9.7.2 GTF sizing runs small. With 5 years of warranty, nothing stands in the way of a long-term relationship.
