Hamburg isn't exactly a mecca for high peaks. However, the E-MAVERICK AM 7.4.3 stands as evidence that the engineers from Stevens definitely have the vision to think outside the box.
In steep sections the somewhat low torque TQ motor requires a lot of initiative from the rider. The TQ HPR 50 provides a very well-rounded riding experience. The power delivery is always harmonious. The short range unfortunately limits the tour radius quite significantly.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the E-MAVERICK AM 7.4.3 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (7000) .

Carbon is considered a premium material in the bike industry. In the price range about 7000€, aluminium is usually the frame material used. With the carbon frame, Stevens can clearly differentiate itself from many competitors. Rough descents take away some of the fear thanks to the average chassis. At the brakes, Stevens middle class two pistons brakes by Shimano are used. Taking a holistic approach also includes looking at the gearing and components. The components are of good qualtiy and offer no reason for criticism here. When it comes to the geometry, Stevens does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. Due to the short chainstays , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. Hell yeah, the geometry is killer! Here the know-how of the Stevens developers is videly visible. When I looked at the weight of the complete bike, my jaw actually dropped. With 17,5 kg, the E-MAVERICK AM 7.4.3 is a real lightweight. If the crankset stands still during the descent, the motor and battery become an unnecessary burden. But Stevens manages to give the E-MAVERICK AM 7.4.3 a natural, smooth handling despite this, with a very pleasing geometry and low weight. Only very few manufacturers manage to create the illusion of a MTB without motor in the EMTB genre. Hats off!

Conclusion

Expirience with the Stevens E-MAVERICK AM 7.4.3

The E-MAVERICK AM 7.4.3 is a real multitool for tours on demanding single trails. Although there is still room for improvement at an average chassis and a mediocre brake system. Nevertheless, with a fantastic motor, an outstanding handling and a good groupset make it a capable Trailbikes from Stevens with a very wide range of use. Warning when choosing size: The E-MAVERICK AM 7.4.3 sizing runs big. The generous warranty of 5 years proves that Stevens stands behind its products.
