Transition Repeater GX Review

Shimano has become the biggest component manufacturer for bicycles thanks to its gear, pedal and brake components. It's clear that the Japanese want to shape the E-Bike trend from this dominant market position. With torque under the motor cover, the support is generous. Nobody needs to fear steep hills anymore. Furthermore, the power of the motor control is regulated so that the start always feels dynamic,. The average range can become a problem especially for long mountain bike rides.

In the Downhill, the bike racks up plenty of points. The excellent Rock Shox chassis calmly and confidently handles rough terrain. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. At the brakes, Transition instals upper class brakes with four pistons and large brake rotors from Magura. The narrow #reifen_inch_breite Schwalbe tires do not do this All Mountains range of use any justice. In our opinion, Transition has saved weight in the wrong place here. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Transition uses good equipment. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. For the very good geometry, the developer team of Transition definitely deserves props. Such a knack for detail in geometry is rarely seen. On the scale, the Repeater GX makes a good figure with 22,3 kg. Most All Mountains are significantly heavier.
