Trek Fuel EXe 8 GX AXS T-Type Review

The TQ HPR 50 is not one of the powerhouses on the market. The somewhat low torque engine could use a bit more support, especially on steep climbs. The motor control of TQ conveys a very well-rounded riding experience. The gentle power delivery is an ace up the sleeve of the HPR 50. The short range unfortunately limits the tour radius quite significantly.

A good chassis sits in rugged terrain and generates plenty of traction. That's exactly what the good Fox chassis in the Fuel EXe 8 GX AXS T-Type hits. The mid-range brakes from SRAM do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. Taking a holistic approach also includes looking at the gearing and components. The components are of good qualtiy and offer no reason for criticism here. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. Short chainstays and make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. For the good geometry, the developer team of Trek definitely deserves props. Such a knack for detail in geometry is rarely seen. With its 20,25 kg, the Fuel EXe 8 GX AXS T-Type is one of the lighter E-bikes. The competition is often significantly heavier.
