The Fuel EXe 9.8 GX AXS is not the first fully in which Trek wants to distinguish itself in the light segment. Unlike the Super Caliber, however, it is clearly more downhill-oriented.
In steep sections the somewhat low torque TQ motor requires a lot of initiative from the rider. The TQ HPR 50 provides a very natural riding experience. The power delivery is always gentle. The short range unfortunately limits the tour radius quite significantly.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Fuel EXe 9.8 GX AXS in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (11000) .

The good Rock Shox chassis absorbs even larger roots with the calmness of a Buddhist monk. Especially on root-strewn trails, the low-quality chassis puts the rider in front of greater challenges than necessary. Especially for heavy riders, the Trek brakes could be a problem. With four pistons they only decelerate averagely. The average shifting components and accessories leave some tuning potential open. For most e-bikers, this should be an acceptable point. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. Short chainstays and make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. Hell yeah, the geometry is killer! Here the know-how of the Trek developers is videly visible. The weight of a bike is a key factor for the fun of riding. With 18,17 kg, the Fuel EXe 9.8 GX AXS is one of the lightest All Mountains on the market. This turns the bike into a real joyride on the trail. Especially going downhill, the good geometry of the Fuel EXe 9.8 GX AXS really shines.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Trek Fuel EXe 9.8 GX AXS

For tours, the Fuel EXe 9.8 GX AXS with an extremely good motor, an outstanding handling and a good chassis is well equipped. Only with an average brake system and a middle ground groupset you have to look away. The guarantee promise of 25 years provides trust.
