The Americans from Trek are among the innovators in the e-mountain bike segment. With the Powerfly 4, however, they prove that they can also build simple bikes for everyday use without technical overkill.
The Performance Line CX from Bosch shows impressively that they shouldn't be limited to DIY and household products. Steep ramps are no problem for the Bosch motor. Additionally, the Bosch Performance Line CX stands out with a very natural riding feeling and a progressive power delivery. Achieving such a perfect balance between natural support and power is something few other engines can do. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the Powerfly 4 with only an average range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Trek Powerfly 4 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (3000) .

As the bumps get bigger and rougher the average SR Suntour fork limits the downhill fun. Especially heavy riders should be aware that the Tektro only decelerates poorly. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Trek uses average parts. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Trek Powerfly 4

The Powerfly 4 is a great climber. With a good motor and a good geometry, long tours in the on paved paths and gentle trails are enjoyable. However, there is also a bitter pill to swallow with a mediocre groupset and an average range. Check the geometry table carefully before buying: The Powerfly 4 sizing runs small. Trek gives a warranty of 25 years on the bike.
