Flat steering angle, thick spring elements and a chic look. The Rail 9.8 XT wants to appeal to trail lovers among e-mountain bikers.
Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX Smart System shows. The very natural motor control and the progressive power output characterise the character of the Bosch motor. The well-tuned driving modes hit the mark. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the Rail 9.8 XT are no problem.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Rail 9.8 XT in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (9000) .

The good Rock Shox chassis absorbs even larger roots with the calmness of a Buddhist monk. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. When it comes to the brakes, Trek reaches for the top shelf and instals premium brakes with four pistons and large brake rotors from Shimano. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Trek uses good equipment. When it comes to the geometry, Trek does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. Overall, the Trek developers have done a great job with a god geometry.
