The Irish from Vitus were late to jump onto the e-mountain bike bandwagon. But with the E-Sommet VRX, they present an interesting bike for rough terrain.
As a component giant, Shimano is mostly known for its dominant position in bicycle gears. But with the E8000, the Japanese are clearly showing that they can look beyond their own plate too. At steep sections, the somewhat weak Shimano motor requires a lot of initiative from the biker. The Shimano E8000 gives off a rough riding feeling. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the E-Sommet VRX with only an average range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Vitus E-Sommet VRX Mountain in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (7000) .

The frame is simply top notch, keeping you in control even on rougher trails full of fast hard hits. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. Whoever wants to ride fast, needs good brakes. The Shimano brakes are equipped with four pistons and large brake rotors. That way, the premium brakes decelerate more than adequately. At the drive components and the remaining parts, Vitus uses very good parts. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. Furthermore, the bike lies excellent on the trail thanks to its low bottom bracket and thus low centre of gravity. Short chainstays and make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. The deep bottom bracket can however lead to crank strikes in technical uphills and disrupt the climbing flow.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Vitus E-Sommet VRX Mountain

Overall, a very good chassis, a very good brake system and a good geometry speak a clear language. The E-Sommet VRX is a good bike with mini-downhill DNA
