Whyte E-160 RS v2 Review

Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX shows. Steep ramps are no problem for the Bosch motor. Additionally, the Bosch Performance Line CX stands out with a very well-rounded riding feeling and a progressive power delivery. The well-tuned driving modes hit the mark. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the E-160 RS v2 with only an average range.

Solid endurance qualities are shown by the chassis of medium quality. The frame on entry-level was stingy with control. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. The mid-range brakes from SRAM do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Whyte uses average parts. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. Short chainstays and and a slack seat angle make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward.
