Like all full suspension e-mountain bikes from Whyte, the E-180 RS has a motor that is turned upwards. This allows the battery to be integrated in front of the motor and is therefore particularly low in the frame. This pulls the bike's center of gravity down, which is an advantage especially with the downhill-oriented orientation of the E-180 RS.
Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX shows. No matter how steep or technical the climb is: the Bosch motor makes it conquerable! At the same time, the drive provides a very well-rounded feeling while riding with a dynamic power delivery. Achieving such a perfect balance between natural support and power is something few other engines can do. The average range can become a problem especially for long mountain bike rides.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the E-180 RS in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (8000) .

At the chassis, Whyte were generous and gave the E-180 RS a golden shine Kashima chassis from the house of Fox with 180 mm of travel. Setup-Nerds can squeeze out the maximum performance from the chassis thanks to the many setting options. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. With its four pistons and larger brake rotors the SRAM braking system decelerates outstandingly. This allows you to maintain control over your own pace even in the steepest descents. At the drive components and the remaining parts, Whyte uses very good parts. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. Short chainstays and and a slack seat angle make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. Hell yeah, the geometry is killer! Here the remarkable know-how of the Whyte developers is videly visible.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Whyte E-180 RS

Overall, an outstanding chassis, an excellent geometry and a very good brake system speak a clear language. The E-180 RS is a good bike with mini-downhill DNA
