Like all full suspension e-mountain bikes from Whyte, the E-180 S has a motor that is turned upwards. This allows the battery to be integrated in front of the motor and is therefore particularly low in the frame. This pulls the bike's center of gravity down, which is an advantage especially with the downhill-oriented orientation of the E-180 S.
The Performance Line CX from Bosch shows impressively that they shouldn't be limited to DIY and household products. The Bosch motor takes away the fear of even the steepest ramps. The combination of a very well-rounded riding feeling and a dynamic power delivery characterises the Bosch Performance Line CX. This great combination mixed with lots of power, is something only a few other motors at Bosch's level can achieve. The average range can become a problem especially for long mountain bike rides.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the E-180 S in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (9000) .

The Rock Shox chassis provides safety and traction, even when the trail gets rougher. However, it comes to its limit at high speed. The frame on entry-level was stingy with control. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. Thanks to the solid power, the SRAM brakes can be counted on in the upper class segment. With four pistons and big brake rotors, Whyte won't take any chances in that area. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. When it comes to the geometry, Whyte does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. Due to the short chainstays and the shallow seat angle , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. Overall, the Whyte developers have done a great job with a very god geometry.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Whyte E-180 S

The developers of Whyte have created a solid all-rounder with the E-180 S. Even though the E-Mountainbike reveals a weak flank with an average chassis and a mediocre groupset, it remains thanks to a fantastic geometry, a good motor and a good brake system:Genetiv a widely applicable vehicle.
