Like all full suspension e-mountain bikes from Whyte, the E-180 S v3 has a motor that is turned upwards. This allows the battery to be integrated in front of the motor and is therefore particularly low in the frame. This pulls the bike's center of gravity down, which is an advantage especially with the downhill-oriented orientation of the E-180 S v3.
The Performance Line CX from Bosch shows impressively that they shouldn't be limited to DIY and household products. No matter how steep or technical the climb is: the Bosch motor makes it conquerable! At the same time, the drive provides a very natural feeling while riding with a dynamic power delivery. This great combination mixed with lots of power, is something only a few other motors at Bosch's level can achieve. The average range can become a problem especially for long mountain bike rides.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Whyte E-180 S v3 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (9000) .

Solid endurance qualities are shown by the chassis of medium quality. The frame on entry-level was stingy with control. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. At the brakes, Whyte instals upper class brakes with four pistons and large brake rotors from SRAM. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. Due to the short chainstays and the shallow seat angle , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. Overall, the Whyte developers have done a great job with a very god geometry.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Whyte E-180 S v3

The developers of Whyte have created a solid all-rounder with the E-180 S v3. Even though the E-Mountainbike reveals a weak flank with a middle ground chassis and an average groupset, it remains thanks to an excellent geometry, a good motor and a good brake system:Genetiv a widely applicable vehicle.
