Business in the front, party at the back. That's how the combination of a 29-inch front wheel and 27.5-inch rear wheel is often referred to. The Decoy MX Core 1 also has such a wheel setup. Paired with plenty of suspension travel, it wants to provide downhill fun in particular.
Shimano motors remain at the top of the engine popularity alongside Bosch motors. No wonder, as evidenced by EP600. Even nasty steep sections are effortlessly climbed by the motor. The Shimano EP600 conveys a riding feeling. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the Decoy MX Core 1 are no problem.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the YT Decoy MX Core 1 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (5000) .

The Rock Shox chassis provides safety and traction, even when the trail gets rougher. However, it comes to its limit at high speed. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. At the rear, the steel spring shock absorber provides maximum sensitivity. Especially for heavy riders, the YT brakes could be a problem. With four pistons they only decelerate averagely. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. Short chainstays and and a slack seat angle make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward.

Conclusion

Expirience with the YT Decoy MX Core 1

With a middle ground motor and a mediocre chassis, the Decoy MX Core 1 definitely has weaknesses. Nevertheless, it remains a solid all-rounder with a wide range of abilities , thanks to a great range. Be careful when choosing the size: The Carbon / Alu frame sizing runs small. A generous warranty also speaks of sustainable business practices. With 5 years of warranty, YT sets the bar high!
