BH ATOMe LYNX PRO 8.2 Review

In the automotive and motorcycle world, Japan has always had a reputation for being a breeding ground for excellent engines. Shimano is doing its utmost to live up to this reputation in the e-bike world with the EP600 engine. Even nasty steep sections are effortlessly climbed by the motor. The Shimano EP600 conveys a riding feeling. Whoever enjoys longer tours will be pleased with the good range.

The frame on entry-level was stingy with control. The mid-range brakes from Shimano do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. The components and the shifting seem less important for BH. The components used here have a clear potential for improvement after a view at the competitors. When it comes to the geometry, BH does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. It's no use beating around the bush: the geometry of BH doesn't suit our taste. Competitors are closer to the cutting edge here.
