It takes a while to visually distinguish the Sonic EVO AM 2 Carbon from all the other Sonic models by Bulls. Their designers really did a great job with the corporate identity and applied the futuristic design to the entire model family. With 150 mm of travel at the front and rear, however, this bike is one of the more downhill-savvy ones among its siblings.
Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX shows. The Bosch motor takes away the fear of even the steepest ramps. The combination of a very well-rounded riding feeling and a progressive power delivery characterises the Bosch Performance Line CX. The well-tuned driving modes hit the mark. Whoever enjoys longer tours will be pleased with the good range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Bulls Sonic EVO AM 2 Carbon in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (5000) .

If the trail gets rougher however, the comparatively weak chassis can quickly limit the downhill fun. The mid-range brakes from Shimano do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. Shifting and components still leave room for improvement. Other providers dig deeper into their pockets for these assemblies. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. Short chainstays and and a slack seat angle make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. Overall, the geometry does not seem to be up to date anymore. The competition is significantly more modern in this regard.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Bulls Sonic EVO AM 2 Carbon

The developers of Bulls have created a solid all-rounder with the Sonic EVO AM 2 Carbon. Even though the E-Mountainbike reveals a weak flank with a weak chassis and a simple groupset, it remains thanks to a good motor and a great range:Genetiv a widely applicable vehicle.
