Cannondale Trail Neo 2 Review

The Trail Neo 2 is designed more for leisurely tours on gravel or asphalt roads. With just 100 mm of travel, the fork is rather slim.
Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Active Line shows. At steep sections, the rather weak Bosch motor requires a lot of initiative from the biker. The Bosch Active Line gives off a well-rounded riding feeling. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the Trail Neo 2 are no problem.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Cannondale Trail Neo 2 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (4000) .

The good Rock Shox fork dampens small and medium bumps confidently when mountain biking. At the brakes, Cannondale reaches for the bottom of the Shimano shelf and instals poor brakes with two pistons and small 18 brake rotors. The components and the gears are less in the spotlight with an EMTB than with bikes without motor. Nevertheless, when we take a look we find out that here, good components are always used. When it comes to the geometry, Cannondale does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. It's no use beating around the bush: the geometry of Cannondale doesn't suit our taste. Competitors are closer to the cutting edge here. On the scale, the Trail Neo 2 makes a good figure with 22,04 kg. Most Tourenbikes are significantly heavier.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Cannondale Trail Neo 2

With a poor motor and a simple brake system, the Trail Neo 2 definitely has weaknesses. Nevertheless, it remains a solid all-rounder with a wide range of abilities , thanks to a good fork, a good groupset and a Impressive range. The warranty of 25 years proves that Cannondale has a lot of trust in its products.
