Canyon Neuron:ON 6 Review

In the automotive and motorcycle world, Japan has always had a reputation for being a breeding ground for excellent engines. Shimano is doing its utmost to live up to this reputation in the e-bike world with the EP8 engine. No matter how steep or technical the climb is: the Shimano motor makes it conquerable! At the same time, the drive provides a natural feeling while riding with a gentle power delivery. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the Neuron:ON 6 with only an average range.

In comparison, it's noticeable that the direct competition mounts better chassises, thus offering significantly more control. At the brakes, Canyon middle class four pistons brakes by Shimano are used. The components and the shifting seem less important for Canyon. The components used here have a clear potential for improvement after a view at the competitors. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. Due to the short chainstays and the shallow seat angle , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. It's no use beating around the bush: the geometry of Canyon doesn't suit our taste. Competitors are closer to the cutting edge here.
