The appearance of the Spectral ONfly 8 is strikingly similar to that of the non-motorized Spectral. Canyon has truly pulled off a masterstroke here. A standout feature is the integration of the K.I.S. steering stabilizer in the top tube. Through two small springs, the handlebars are subtly pushed back to a straight-ahead position, which is particularly helpful in edge-of-control situations when the front wheel starts to slide, helping to prevent a crash.
The TQ HPR 5 is not one of the powerhouses on the market. The somewhat low torque engine could use a bit more support, especially on steep climbs. The motor control of TQ conveys a very well-rounded riding experience. The harmonious power delivery is an ace up the sleeve of the HPR 5. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the Spectral ONfly 8, because of its low range. Who wants to remove the battery for charging or storing, will be disappointed with the Spectral ONfly 8. The battery is firmly built-in.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Canyon Spectral ONfly 8 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (6000) .

Carbon frames are rather the exception in the price range of about 55€. With the carbon fibre chassis, Canyon thus sets clear accents compared to the aluminium competitors. Solid endurance qualities are shown by the chassis of medium quality. Thanks to the solid power, the SRAM brakes can be counted on in the upper class segment. With four pistons and 2 millimeter rotors, Canyon won't take any chances in that area. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Canyon uses average parts. The relatively high reach value in the geometry table is compensated by Canyon with a relatively short stem. Thus, the long main frame remains maneuverable in the terrain. On the scale, the Spectral ONfly 8 makes a good figure with 18,7 kg. Most Trailbikes are significantly heavier.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Canyon Spectral ONfly 8

Especially when gravity pulls man and machine downwards, the Spectral ONfly 8 really comes alive. With an extremely good geometry and a $brake system_gut brake system the Canyon is a real trail rocket even for really gnarly terrain. With a mediocre chassis and a average groupset, Spectral ONfly 8 has a sore spot too.
