Devinci E-Spartan Deore 12S Review

As a component giant, Shimano is mostly known for its dominant position in bicycle gears. But with the EP8, the Japanese are clearly showing that they can look beyond their own plate too. The well-rounded motor control and the gentle power output characterise the character of the Shimano motor. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the E-Spartan are no problem.

A good chassis sits in rugged terrain and generates plenty of traction. That's exactly what the good Fox chassis in the E-Spartan hits. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. At the rear, the steel spring shock absorber provides maximum sensitivity. Thanks to the solid power, the Shimano brakes can be counted on in the upper class segment. With four pistons in front and two pistons in the rear and big brake rotors, Devinci won't take any chances in that area. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Devinci uses good equipment. The 64° angle low head tube angle gives the E-Spartan increased stability at higher speeds. Overall, the Devinci developers have done a great job with a god geometry.
