Focus FOCUS SAM² 6.8 Review

Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX Smart System shows. Even seemingly hopeless ramps the Bosch motor easily climbs up well. The Bosch Performance Line CX Smart System provides a very natural riding experience with a dynamic power delivery. Achieving such a perfect balance between natural support and power is something few other engines can do. Thanks to the very good range, you should no longer have any range problems even on very long tours.

Solid endurance qualities are shown by the chassis of medium quality. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. At the rear, the steel spring shock absorber provides maximum sensitivity. The mid-range brakes from Magura do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. The average shifting components and accessories leave some tuning potential open. For most e-bikers, this should be an acceptable point. The reach - or rather the main frame - of the Focuss is long. This puts the FOCUS SAM² 6.8 right on trend. The remaining values from the geometry table also orientate this bike according to the zeitgeist and leave a really thought-through impression. Also, weight is an important factor when it comes to EMTB. The FOCUS SAM² 6.8 isn't exactly shining in this regard. There are lighter Enduros on the market.
