Focus FOCUS SAM² 6.9 Review

Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX Smart System shows. The Bosch motor takes away the fear of even the steepest ramps. The combination of a very well-rounded riding feeling and a dynamic power delivery characterises the Bosch Performance Line CX Smart System. The well-tuned driving modes hit the mark. Thanks to the very good range, you should no longer have any range problems even on very long tours.

The frame is simply top notch, keeping you in control even on rougher trails full of fast hard hits. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. At the rear, the steel spring shock absorber provides maximum sensitivity. When it comes to the brakes, Focus reaches for the top shelf and instals premium brakes with four pistons and large brake rotors from Shimano. Taking a holistic approach also includes looking at the gearing and components. The components are of good qualtiy and offer no reason for criticism here. The reach - or rather the main frame - of the Focuss is long. This puts the FOCUS SAM² 6.9 right on trend. The remaining values from the geometry table also orientate this bike according to the zeitgeist and leave a really thought-through impression. With weight, the FOCUS SAM² 6.9 is generally one of the heavier e-bikes on the market.
