The JAM² 7.0 comes from the Stuttgart development center of Focus. The elaborate FOLD rear triangle has already proven itself in mountain bikes without an engine and is therefore also used here.
As a component giant, Shimano is mostly known for its dominant position in bicycle gears. But with the EP8, the Japanese are clearly showing that they can look beyond their own plate too. With torque under the motor cover, the support is generous. Nobody needs to fear steep hills anymore. Furthermore, the power of the motor control is regulated so that the start always feels dynamic,. Whoever enjoys longer tours will be pleased with the good range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the JAM² 7.0 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (8000) .

A good chassis sits in rugged terrain and generates plenty of traction. That's exactly what the good Rock Shox chassis in the JAM² 7.0 hits. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. Bad brakes reduce the riding pleasure. Fortunately, this is not the case with the JAM² 7.0. With their four pistons and 2 disc brakes the SRAM brake brakes good. Taking a holistic approach also includes looking at the gearing and components. The components are of good qualtiy and offer no reason for criticism here. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. Short chainstays and and a slack seat angle make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. It's no use beating around the bush: the geometry of Focus doesn't suit our taste. Competitors are closer to the cutting edge here. Also, weight is an important factor when it comes to EMTB. The JAM² 7.0 isn't exactly shining in this regard. There are lighter All Mountains on the market.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Focus JAM² 7.0

The developers of Focus have created a solid all-rounder with the JAM² 7.0. Even though the E-Mountainbike reveals a weak flank with a , it remains thanks to a good motor, a good chassis and a good brake system:Genetiv a widely applicable vehicle. The warranty of 6 years proves that Focus has a lot of trust in its products.
