With the model addition SL Focus wants to build an E-MTB that meets the latest demands of the light E-MTB trend. The carbon frame with its filigree lines already meets the taste of the target group.

Even steep ramps are surprisingly easy to climb with the Fazua motor. With its boost function, which provides 450 watts of support for a short period of time, the Fazua Ride 60 reduces the gap between light and classic full-power motors. At the moment, hardly any other light motor offers such a good combination of natural support, dynamic power delivery and capability. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the JAM² SL 9.9 with only an average range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Focus JAM² SL 9.9 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (9000) .

The high-quality Fox chassis also takes away the fear of rough root sections. When it comes to the brakes, Focus reaches for the top shelf and instals premium brakes with four pistons and large brake rotors from Shimano. The narrow #reifen_inch_breite Schwalbe tires do not do this All Mountains range of use any justice. In our opinion, Focus has saved weight in the wrong place here. A nice touch: The gear and components are on a very good level. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. Short chainstays and make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. On the scale, the JAM² SL 9.9 makes a good figure with 19,2 kg. Most All Mountains are significantly heavier.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Focus JAM² SL 9.9

If you're looking for a comfortable ride for everyday use, the JAM² SL 9.9 isn't for you, because this bike only knows one gear when going downhill - full throttle! With a very good chassis, a very good brake system and a very good handling, it puts most of the competition when it gets really gnarly in its place. Warning when choosing size: The JAM² SL 9.9 sizing runs small. With 6 years of guarantee, nothing can go wrong in the long run.
