GASGAS G Light Trail 3.0 Review

The full carbon frame of the G Light Trail 3.0 is simple but stylish. The large 29 inch wheels should give the bike more riding safety than the other models in the GASGAS range.
At steep sections, the somewhat weak R Raymon motor requires a lot of initiative from the rider. The R Raymon Air Drive gives off a well-rounded riding feeling. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the G Light Trail 3.0 , because of its low range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the G Light Trail 3.0 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (7000) .

Carbon frames are rather the exception in the price range of about 7500€. With the carbon fibre chassis, GASGAS thus sets clear accents compared to the aluminium competitors. The good Rock Shox chassis absorbs even larger roots with the calmness of a Buddhist monk. At the brakes, GASGAS middle class four pistons brakes by Formula are used. For an All Mountain , the Continental tires with a width of #reifen_inch_breite inches are relatively narrow. In our opinion, GASGAS could have put on wider tires. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, GASGAS uses good equipment. With a flat 65,5° angle , the geometry follows the current trend. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. Oh boy, with the geometry you have to be ready to make compromises from our perspective. The most important measurements and angles fall slightly out of the grid of good bikes.

Conclusion

Expirience with the GASGAS G Light Trail 3.0

Even though the G Light Trail 3.0 is not a top of the class, it still has a clear character. Despite a middle ground brake system, it remains thanks to a good chassis a solid downhill rider. So GASGAS appeals mainly to single trail lovers. Check the geometry table carefully before buying: The G Light Trail 3.0 sizing runs big.
