The brand GASGAS, widely recognized in the motor-trial sport, is looking to gain traction in the EMTB scene with their MXA 1.
With torque under the motor cover, the support is generous. Nobody needs to fear steep hills anymore. Furthermore, the power of the motor control is regulated so that the start always feels dynamic,. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the MXA 1 are no problem.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the MXA 1 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (5000) .

The chassis unfortunately isn't great. Riders might lack comfort on rough terrain. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. Especially for heavy riders, the GASGAS brakes could be a problem. With four pistons they only decelerate averagely. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, GASGAS uses average parts. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar.

Conclusion

Expirience with the GASGAS MXA 1

The MXA 1 isnt`t a specialist on the trail. Despite a simple chassis and a mediocre brake system, it remains thanks to a good motor, a good geometry and a great range a solid all-rounder with a wide range of use.
