Even though the design of the BESTA DIO is generally straightforward, the cables running through the headset have to be mentioned. They make for a tidy look.
As a component giant, Shimano is mostly known for its dominant position in bicycle gears. But with the EP8, the Japanese are clearly showing that they can look beyond their own plate too. Also angriest ramps the Shimano motor easily climbs up well Although the EP8 isn't the strongest when it comes to maximum power, it still has its advantages.. The Shimano EP8 provides a natural riding experience with a gentle power delivery. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the BESTA DIO with only an average range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the BESTA DIO in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (10000) .

No matter how tricky the ground may be, the excellent Öhlins chassis brings calmness and provides a lot of control. Thanks to the solid power, the Magura brakes can be counted on in the upper class segment. With four pistons , Hoheacht won't take any chances in that area. The components and the gears are less in the spotlight with an EMTB than with bikes without motor. Nevertheless, when we take a look we find out that here, good components are always used. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. It's no use beating around the bush: the geometry of Hoheacht doesn't suit our taste. Competitors are closer to the cutting edge here. On the scale, the BESTA DIO makes a good figure with 21,3 kg. Most All Mountains are significantly heavier.
