The Kona Remote 130 not only comes with less travel, but also much more moderate in terms of design language, than the Remote 160 from Kona.
Shimano has become the biggest component manufacturer for bicycles thanks to its gear, pedal and brake components. It's clear that the Japanese want to shape the E-Bike trend from this dominant market position. At steep sections, the somewhat weak Shimano motor requires a lot of initiative from the biker. The Shimano E7000 gives off a digital riding feeling. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the Kona Remote 130 , because of its low range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Kona Remote 130 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (6000) .

Solid endurance qualities are shown by the chassis of medium quality. The mid-range brakes from Shimano do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the two pistons setup is only average. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Kona uses average parts. When it comes to the geometry, Kona does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. Due to the short chainstays , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Kona Kona Remote 130

This Kona is a reasonable choice for single trail lovers, even though there are stronger bikes on the market when considering the whole picture. The warranty of 25 years proves that Kona has a lot of trust in its products.
