The REMOTE not only comes with less travel, but also much more moderate in terms of design language, than the Remote 160 from Kona.
Shimano motors remain at the top of the engine popularity alongside Bosch motors. No wonder, as evidenced by E7000. At steep sections, the somewhat weak Shimano motor requires a lot of initiative from the rider. The Shimano E7000 gives off a digital riding feeling. The short range unfortunately limits the tour radius quite significantly.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the REMOTE in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (5000) .

On rough descents, the moderate chassis limits you and demands a more precise line choice than bikes with better chassis. At the brakes, Kona middle class four pistons brakes by Shimano are used. The components and the shifting seem less important for Kona. The components used here have a clear potential for improvement after a view at the competitors. When it comes to the geometry, Kona does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. Due to the short chainstays , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Kona REMOTE

Even though the REMOTE is not a top of the class, it still has a clear character. Despite a simple chassis and a mediocre brake system, it remains a solid downhill rider. So Kona appeals mainly to single trail lovers. Praise-worthy: 25 years of Warranty on the Frame!
