Because of the standing damper, the cables must be routed through the middle of the frame triangle. Honestly: a bit impractical.
In the automotive and motorcycle world, Japan has always had a reputation for being a breeding ground for excellent engines. Shimano is doing its utmost to live up to this reputation in the e-bike world with the EP8 engine. Steep ramps are no problem for the Shimano motor. Additionally, the Shimano EP8 stands out with a natural riding feeling and a harmonious power delivery. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the SOIL BOOST 1.0 630 with only an average range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Kross SOIL BOOST 1.0 630 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (5000) .

As the hits get faster and harder the average chassis limits the downhill fun. Especially for heavy riders, the Kross brakes could be a problem. With four pistons they only decelerate averagely. The average shifting components and accessories leave some tuning potential open. For most e-bikers, this should be an acceptable point. On winding trails, the playful handling comes to the fore, as the bike masters even the fastest direction changes with the short wheelbase playfully. Small wheels are becoming rare, but with the SOIL BOOST 1.0 630 the 27.5 wheels pay off with a playful riding experience. Furthermore, the bike lies excellent on the trail thanks to its low bottom bracket and thus low centre of gravity. Due to the short chainstays and the shallow seat angle , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. We love deep bottom brackets, as long as it's going downhill. Uphill you need to be aware that the crank can sometimes hit the ground.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Kross SOIL BOOST 1.0 630

With a weak chassis and an average brake system, the SOIL BOOST 1.0 630 definitely has weaknesses. Nevertheless, it remains a solid all-rounder with a wide range of abilities , thanks to a good motor and a good geometry.
