KTM MACINA PROWLER EXONIC Review

Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX Smart System shows. The very natural motor control and the dynamic power output characterise the character of the Bosch motor. This great combination mixed with lots of power, is something only a few other motors at Bosch's level can achieve. Whoever likes to go on long rides will be pleased with the very good range.

Even the most treacherous downhill runs are effortlessly handled by the high-end Fox chassis. Setup-Nerds can squeeze out the maximum performance from the chassis thanks to the many setting options. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. At the rear, the steel spring shock absorber provides maximum sensitivity. Bad brakes reduce the riding pleasure. Fortunately, this is not the case with the MACINA PROWLER EXONIC. With their two pistons the Shimano brake brakes good. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, KTM goes all-in and only uses excellent parts. When it comes to the geometry, KTM does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. Due to the short chainstays and the shallow seat angle , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. Overall, the geometry does not seem to be up to date anymore. The competition is significantly more modern in this regard.
