At 180 mm, the MACINA PROWLER PRO makes it clear what it was built for: It should make unrestrained downhill fun possible. The striking recess in the top tube can be used to carry the bike.
Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX shows. The Bosch motor takes away the fear of even the steepest ramps. The combination of a very natural riding feeling and a dynamic power delivery characterises the Bosch Performance Line CX. This great combination mixed with lots of power, is something only a few other motors at Bosch's level can achieve. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the MACINA PROWLER PRO with only an average range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the KTM MACINA PROWLER PRO in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (6000) .

Solid endurance qualities are shown by the chassis of medium quality. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. At the rear, the steel spring shock absorber provides maximum sensitivity. The mid-range brakes from Shimano do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. Short chainstays and and a slack seat angle make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. Oh boy, with the geometry you have to be ready to make compromises from our perspective. The most important measurements and angles fall slightly out of the grid of good bikes. The view of the weight of 25,4 kg reveals: There are lighter Enduros.

Conclusion

Expirience with the KTM MACINA PROWLER PRO

The developers of KTM have created a solid all-rounder with the MACINA PROWLER PRO. Even though the E-Mountainbike reveals a weak flank with a mediocre chassis and an average brake system, it remains a widely applicable vehicle. Warning when choosing size: The MACINA PROWLER PRO sizing runs small.
