KTM MACINA RIDE 571 Review

Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Active Line Plus shows. At steep sections, the somewhat weak Bosch motor requires a lot of initiative from the rider. The Bosch Active Line Plus gives off a well-rounded riding feeling. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the MACINA RIDE 571 with only an average range.

Good damping qualities are shown through the SR Suntour mid-range fork. In descending situations, the Shimano brakes require a lot of hand strength or, optionally, courage from the biker. With two pistons and small 18 brake rotors, they only brake poorly. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. If the Meta's chainstay length is less than 445 short wheelbase and a moderate reach value make the handling pleasantly playful. The 27.5 inch wheels additionally emphasize the playful character. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. With its 22,2 kg, the MACINA RIDE 571 is one of the lighter E-bikes. The competition is often significantly heavier.
