Like the vast majority of e-hardtails, the eBIG NINE 675 feels most at home on paved or gravel bike paths.
As a component giant, Shimano is mostly known for its dominant position in bicycle gears. But with the EP8, the Japanese are clearly showing that they can look beyond their own plate too. Even gnarly inclines the Shimano motor easily climbs up well Even though the EP8 doesn't reach the performance of a Bosch CX Motor at maximum output, for example.. The Shimano EP8 provides a well-rounded riding experience with a gentle power delivery. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the eBIG NINE 675 are no problem.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Merida eBIG NINE 675 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (4000) .

The good SR Suntour fork dampens small and medium bumps confidently when mountain biking. In descending situations, the Shimano brakes require a lot of hand strength or, optionally, courage from the rider. With four pistons in front and two pistons in the rear and small 18 brake rotors, they only brake poorly. Wide tires provide more grip and comfort. Merida tends to fit narrow tires with its #reifen_inch_breite Merida tires. For an EMTB, we would prefer wider treads. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. Overall, the Merida developers have done a great job with a very god geometry.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Merida eBIG NINE 675

Overall, the eBIG NINE 675 is, due to a top-notch geometry, a good motor and a good fork is a good all-rounder for trips on paved paths and gentle trails. Only a weak brake system and an average groupset slightly tarnish the otherwise successful overall picture. With 25 years of guarantee, nothing can go wrong in the long run.
