Mondraker PRIME 29 Review

Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX shows. The very natural motor control and the dynamic power output characterise the character of the Bosch motor. This great combination mixed with lots of power, is something only a few other motors at Bosch's level can achieve. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the PRIME 29 are no problem.

Rough descents take the good Rock Shox fork brand its course, though not with the calmness of a top-end fork. Especially for heavy riders, the Mondraker brakes could be a problem. With two pistons they only decelerate averagely. Taking a holistic approach also includes looking at the gearing and components. The components are of good qualtiy and offer no reason for criticism here. In view of the high reach value, it becomes clear: The main frame is long. However, the generous reach is compensated for by a very short stem. This way, Mondraker creates a good weight distribution between the wheels and a balanced handling. On the scale, the PRIME 29 makes a good figure with 22,5 kg. Most Tourenbikes are significantly heavier.
