The reduced approach of the RISE H15 places this bike between the e-mountain bike worlds. However, due to the filigree appearance and its own motor concept, it can ultimately be said that this is a light E-MTB.
Shimano motors remain at the top of the engine popularity alongside Bosch motors. No wonder, as evidenced by EP8 RS. At the drivetrain, Orbea relies on the Shimano EP8 RS. The big difference between the EP8 RS and the regular EP8 motor lies in the software. For use in light EMTBs, the maximum support was slightly reduced. Nevertheless, the EP8 RS remains significantly stronger than other light motors. Like the EP8, the EP8 RS conveys a natural riding experience. The power delivery is always harmonious. Something annoying with the EP8 RS is the slight gear rattle downhill. The average range can become a problem especially for long mountain bike rides. Who wants to remove the battery for charging or storing, will be disappointed with the RISE H15. The battery is firmly built-in.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the RISE H15 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (6000) .

The good Fox chassis absorbs even larger roots with the calmness of a Buddhist monk. Especially for heavy riders, the Orbea brakes could be a problem. With two pistons and small 180 brake rotors they only decelerate averagely. The average shifting components and accessories leave some tuning potential open. For most e-bikers, this should be an acceptable point. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. Short chainstays and make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. On the scale, the RISE H15 makes a good figure with 20,9 kg. Most All Mountains are significantly heavier.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Orbea RISE H15

With a mediocre motor and an average brake system, the RISE H15 definitely has weaknesses. Nevertheless, it remains a solid all-rounder with a wide range of abilities , thanks to a very good handling and a good chassis. The warranty of 25 years proves that Orbea has a lot of trust in its products.
