Orbea RISE M-LTD Review

The visual similarity to a bike without a motor make the RISE M-LTD one of the most popular e-mountain bikes on the market.
Shimano motors remain at the top of the engine popularity alongside Bosch motors. No wonder, as evidenced by EP8 RS. At the drivetrain, Orbea relies on the Shimano EP8 RS. The big difference between the EP8 RS and the regular EP8 motor lies in the software. For use in light EMTBs, the maximum support was slightly reduced. Nevertheless, the EP8 RS remains significantly stronger than other light motors. Like the EP8, the EP8 RS conveys a natural riding experience. The power delivery is always harmonious. Something annoying with the EP8 RS is the slight gear rattle downhill. The short range unfortunately limits the tour radius quite significantly. Who wants to remove the battery for charging or storing, will be disappointed with the RISE M-LTD. The battery is firmly built-in.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the RISE M-LTD in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (11000) .

A good chassis sits in rugged terrain and generates plenty of traction. That's exactly what the good Fox chassis in the RISE M-LTD hits. Especially for heavy riders, the Orbea brakes could be a problem. With two pistons and small 180 brake rotors they only decelerate averagely. The components and the gears are less in the spotlight with an EMTB than with bikes without motor. Nevertheless, when we take a look we find out that here, good components are always used. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. Due to the short chainstays , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. Overall, the Orbea developers have done a great job with a god geometry.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Orbea RISE M-LTD

Friends of gravity should jot down the RISE M-LTD. With a fantastic handling and a good chassis, the Orbea is a real trail rocket. But an average brake system are of course points of criticism that one should be aware of before purchasing. With a guarantee of 25 years, the warranty is generous.
