Orbea URRUN 10 Review

High-quality e-mountain bike hardtails are currently still a niche on the market. However, the URRUN 10 fills this niche with an aesthetic approach. Purely in terms of concept, the Urrun can be described as the little brother of the popular Orbea Rise Fully.
As a component giant, Shimano is mostly known for its dominant position in bicycle gears. But with the EP8 RS, the Japanese are clearly showing that they can look beyond their own plate too. At the drivetrain, Orbea relies on the Shimano EP8 RS. The big difference between the EP8 RS and the regular EP8 motor lies in the software. For use in light EMTBs, the maximum support was slightly reduced. Nevertheless, the EP8 RS remains significantly stronger than other light motors. Like the EP8, the EP8 RS conveys a natural riding experience. The power delivery is always harmonious. Something annoying with the EP8 RS is the slight gear rattle downhill. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the URRUN 10 with only an average range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the URRUN 10 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (5000) .

Ideally, a suspension fork smooths out rough terrain and allows for controlled guidance even during fast descents. That's exactly what the outstanding Fox fork on the URRUN 10 does. At the brakes, Orbea middle class four pistons brakes with small 18 brake rotors by Magura are used. In the area of shifting and the overall parts, Orbea ist on the money. The superb accessories make sure people will notice this bike, no matter where you rock up with it. When it comes to the geometry, Orbea does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. Due to the short chainstays , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. Overall, the Orbea developers have done a great job with a god geometry. With the weight of 21,21 kg, Orbea puts the competition in a state of shock. Indeed, among Tourenbikes, it is hard to find a lighter model. The riding pleasure is guaranteed. Especially going downhill, the good geometry of the URRUN 10 really shines.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Orbea URRUN 10

At first glance, you better look away when it comes to a middle ground motor and a mediocre brake system. Nevertheless, the URRUN 10 presents itself overall as an exceptional all-rounder. Especially an excellent fork, a fantastic groupset and an outstanding handling are playing into the hands of the Orbea. The URRUN 10 is a successful Tourenbike for tours on paved paths and gentle trails. The generous warranty of 25 years proves that Orbea stands behind its products.
