Orbea URRUN 40 Review

In the cheapest version, #bike_brand only has 100 mms of spring travel on the fork. However, the URRUN 40 is still equipped for tours on gravel bike paths through easy terrain.
In the automotive and motorcycle world, Japan has always had a reputation for being a breeding ground for excellent engines. Shimano is doing its utmost to live up to this reputation in the e-bike world with the EP 6 RS engine. At steep sections, the somewhat weak Shimano motor requires a lot of initiative from the biker. The Shimano EP 6 RS gives off a well-rounded riding feeling. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the URRUN 40 with only an average range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the URRUN 40 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (3000) .

Good damping qualities are shown through the SR Suntour mid-range fork. Especially heavy riders should be aware that the Shimano only decelerates poorly. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Orbea uses average parts. When it comes to the geometry, Orbea does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. When I looked at the weight of the complete bike, my jaw actually dropped. With 21,44 kg, the URRUN 40 is a real lightweight. An e-mountain bike is most fun when it can be ridden on a single track like a bike without a motor. The combination of good weight and very pleasant geometry give the URRUN 40 the same natural and nimble handling as you know from non-motorised mountain bikes. Really only a few manufacturers manage to get this right.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Orbea URRUN 40

The URRUN 40 is a real multitool for tours on gravel roads and simple forest paths. Although there is still room for improvement at a simple brake system and an average motor. Nevertheless, with an outstanding geometry make it a capable Tourenbikes from Orbea with a very wide range of use. A generous warranty also speaks of sustainable business practices. With 25 years of warranty, Orbea sets the bar high!
