Pivot Shuttle AM Ride SLX/XT Review

Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX shows. Even seemingly hopeless inclines the Bosch motor easily climbs up well. The Bosch Performance Line CX provides a very well-rounded riding experience with a dynamic power delivery. The well-tuned riding modes cater to bikers of all preferences. The average range can become a problem especially for long mountain bike rides.

A good chassis sits in rugged terrain and generates plenty of traction. That's exactly what the good Fox chassis in the Shuttle AM Ride SLX/XT hits. Bad brakes reduce the riding pleasure. Fortunately, this is not the case with the Shuttle AM Ride SLX/XT. With their four pistons and 2 disc brakes the Shimano brake brakes good. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. When it comes to the geometry, Pivot does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. Due to the short chainstays , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting.
