To be honest, it's hard to tell the visual difference from the more expensive carbon version right away. Because the Altitude Powerplay Alloy 70 also comes across very aesthetically and retains all adjustment options of the geometry and shock suspension.
Even nasty steep sections are effortlessly climbed by the motor. The Dyname 4.0 conveys a riding feeling. The average range can become a problem especially for long mountain bike rides.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Altitude Powerplay Alloy 70 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (8000) .

Even nasty descents get smoothened by the good Fox chassis. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. Whoever wants to ride fast, needs good brakes. The Shimano brakes are equipped with four pistons and large brake rotors. That way, the premium brakes decelerate more than adequately. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. For additional points in downhill handling, the low bottom bracket integrates the rider well into the bike and pulls the centre of gravity down. Short chainstays and and a slack seat angle make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. For the very good geometry, the developer team of Rocky Mountain definitely deserves props. Such a knack for detail in geometry is rarely seen. We love deep bottom brackets, as long as it's going downhill. Uphill you need to be aware that the crank can sometimes hit the ground.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Rocky Mountain Altitude Powerplay Alloy 70

Friends of gravity should jot down the Altitude Powerplay Alloy 70. With a top-notch geometry, a very good brake system and a good chassis, the Rocky Mountain is a real trail rocket even for really gnarly terrain. Praise-worthy: 5 years of Warranty on the Frame!
