The slightly upturned engine of the E-160 S v2 is not only visually striking, but also has a technical background. The battery can be placed in front of the engine and is therefore particularly low in the frame, which pulls the entire center of gravity of the bike down.
The Performance Line CX from Bosch shows impressively that they shouldn't be limited to DIY and household products. The Bosch motor climbs steep ramps effortlessly. The very natural riding feeling combines the Bosch Performance Line CX with a dynamic power delivery. The well-tuned driving modes hit the mark. The average range can become a problem especially for long mountain bike rides.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Whyte E-160 S v2 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (9000) .

The Rock Shox chassis provides safety and traction, even when the trail gets rougher. However, it comes to its limit at high speed. Especially on root-strewn trails, the low-quality chassis puts the rider in front of greater challenges than necessary. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. Thanks to the solid power, the SRAM brakes can be counted on in the upper class segment. With four pistons and big brake rotors, Whyte won't take any chances in that area. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Whyte uses average parts. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. Due to the short chainstays and the shallow seat angle , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Whyte E-160 S v2

With an average chassis and a mediocre groupset, the E-160 S v2 definitely has weaknesses. Nevertheless, it remains a solid all-rounder with a wide range of abilities , thanks to a good motor and a good brake system.
