With 180 mm travel, the E-180 is designed for the roughest of terrains.
Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX shows. Steep ramps are no problem for the Bosch motor. Additionally, the Bosch Performance Line CX stands out with a very natural riding feeling and a progressive power delivery. The well-tuned driving modes hit the mark. Thanks to the very good range, you should no longer have any range problems even on very long tours.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Whyte E-180 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (13000) .

The top notch Rock Shox chassis absorbs big hits like Chuck Norris and provides a lot of traction and control. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. With its four pistons and larger brake rotors the SRAM braking system decelerates outstandingly. This allows you to maintain control over your own pace even in the steepest descents. A nice touch: The gear and components are on a very good level. When it comes to the geometry, Whyte does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. Due to the short chainstays and the shallow seat angle , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. The view of the weight of 26,1 kg reveals: There are lighter Enduros.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Whyte E-180

The E-180 is a real multitool for long tours on insanely technical trails. With a very good chassis, a very good brake system and a very good groupset make it a capable Enduros from Whyte with a very wide range of use. Short of breath is the appropriate reaction when looking at the price tag: 12999 € calls for Whyte for this deluxe Bike.
