Shimano motors remain at the top of the engine popularity alongside Bosch motors. No wonder, as evidenced by EP8. No matter how steep or technical the climb is: the Shimano motor makes it conquerable! At the same time, the drive provides a natural feeling while riding with a gentle power delivery. The average range can become a problem especially for long mountain bike rides.

As the hits get faster and harder the average chassis limits the downhill fun. The mid-range brakes from Magura do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the two pistons setup is only average. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. The relatively high reach value in the geometry table is compensated by Canyon with a relatively short stem. Thus, the long main frame remains maneuverable in the terrain.
