GT eForce Amp+ Review

Shimano motors remain at the top of the engine popularity alongside Bosch motors. No wonder, as evidenced by EP801. Even nasty steep sections are effortlessly climbed by the motor. The Shimano EP801 conveys a riding feeling. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the eForce Amp+ with only an average range.

The chassis unfortunately isn't great. Riders might lack comfort on rough terrain. Bad brakes reduce the riding pleasure. Fortunately, this is not the case with the eForce Amp+. With their four pistons and large brake rotors the TRP brake brakes good. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. Overall, the GT developers have done a great job with a god geometry.
