The Taiwanese manufacturer Merida is one of the big dogs in the bike industry. Merida not only produces its own bikes, but also manufactures a lot of frames for other companies. The know-how in frame production is definitely a strong point, which comes to light on the eONE-SIXTY 975. Accurate weld seams and hydroformed tubes are testiment to the attention to detail. Another good feature is the factory-installed lighting system, which helps you get home safely at dusk.
Shimano has become the biggest component manufacturer for bicycles thanks to its gear, pedal and brake components. It's clear that the Japanese want to shape the E-Bike trend from this dominant market position. No matter how steep or technical the climb is: the Shimano motor makes it conquerable! At the same time, the drive provides a well-rounded feeling while riding with a gentle power delivery. Whoever enjoys longer tours will be pleased with the good range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the eONE-SIXTY 975 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (7000) .

Even nasty descents get smoothened by the good Rock Shox chassis. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. Whoever wants to ride fast, needs good brakes. The Shimano brakes are equipped with four pistons and large brake rotors. That way, the premium brakes decelerate more than adequately. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. Short chainstays and and a slack seat angle make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Merida eONE-SIXTY 975

Friends of gravity should jot down the eONE-SIXTY 975. With a very good brake system, a good chassis and a good geometry, the Merida is a real trail rocket even for really gnarly terrain. The generous warranty of 25 years proves that Merida stands behind its products.
