The Nukeproof brand has always supplied bikes for adrenaline-seeking trail lovers. With 170 mm of suspension travel at the fork, the Megawatt ELITE also fits this mold.
As a component giant, Shimano is mostly known for its dominant position in bicycle gears. But with the EP8, the Japanese are clearly showing that they can look beyond their own plate too. With torque under the motor cover, the support is generous. Nobody needs to fear steep hills anymore. Furthermore, the power of the motor control is regulated so that the start always feels dynamic,. The average range can become a problem especially for long mountain bike rides.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Nukeproof Megawatt ELITE in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (7000) .

The deluxe Fox chassis absorbs big hits like Chuck Norris and provides a lot of traction and control. Setup-Nerds can squeeze out the maximum performance from the chassis thanks to the many setting options. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. Thanks to the solid power, the Shimano brakes can be counted on in the upper class segment. With four pistons and big brake rotors, Nukeproof won't take any chances in that area. Taking a holistic approach also includes looking at the gearing and components. The components are of good qualtiy and offer no reason for criticism here. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. Due to the short chainstays , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Nukeproof Megawatt ELITE

Overall, a very good chassis, a good brake system and a good geometry speak a clear language. The Megawatt ELITE is a good bike with mini-downhill DNA
