Specialized S-WORKS TURBO LEVO SL Review

When Specialized presents a new bike, the competition usually pays attention. The S-WORKS TURBO LEVO SL also triggers this effect with very sleak lines and a holistic approach. One thing that stands out is that the engine gets a significant power update compared to its predecessor.
At steep sections, the somewhat weak Specialized motor requires a lot of initiative from the rider. The Specialized 1.2 SL gives off a natural riding feeling. The short range unfortunately limits the tour radius quite significantly. The integrated battery gives developers constructive freedom when designing the frame. However, to charge it, the bike always has to be brought near an outlet.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the S-WORKS TURBO LEVO SL in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (14000) .

The very good chassis with 160 mm travel in the front and 150 mm rear hub also proves to have a lot of resilience even on rougher terrain. At the brakes, Specialized instals upper class brakes with four pistons and 2 millimeter rotors from SRAM. Wide tires provide more grip and comfort. Specialized tends to fit narrow tires with its #reifen_inch_breite Specialized tires. For an All Mountain, we would prefer wider treads. At the drive components and the remaining parts, Specialized uses very good parts. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. Due to the short chainstays and the shallow seat angle , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting.

Value for money

Conclusion

Expirience with the Specialized S-WORKS TURBO LEVO SL

This Specialized is a reasonable choice for single trail lovers, even though there are stronger bikes on the market when considering the whole picture. Downhill fans should like a very good chassis, a good brake system and a good geometry. The proud price of 14000 € requires a fat wallet unfortunately. With 25 years of guarantee, nothing can go wrong in the long run.
