The E-Lyte 15 arrives sleek and streamlined, so much so, it might be mistaken for a non-electric rig. But fret not: The #bike_motor motor provides subtle assistance right when you need it.
The SX from Bosch shows impressively that they shouldn't be limited to DIY and household products. The Swabians from Bosch are sending their first light engine into the race with the SX. With 55 Nm torque, this unit places exactly in the middle between Fazua's Ride 6 and TQ's HPR 5. However, it delivers up to 6 watts of support, similar performance figures to the popular Bosch CX. The starting behavior remains progressive. The complete motor control is very $natural. In terms of installation space and sound, the small Bosch can't quite keep up with its competitors from the Light segment. The short range unfortunately limits the tour radius quite significantly.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the E-Lyte 150 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (11000) .

The frame is simply top notch, keeping you in control even on rougher trails full of fast hard hits. At the brakes, Whyte instals upper class brakes with four pistons and 2 millimeter rotors from Hope. The shifting and the rest of the components are always in the shadow of the engine when it comes to electric mountain bikes. Nevertheless, Whyte doesn't skimp here and instals very good components. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. It's no use beating around the bush: the geometry of Whyte doesn't suit our taste. Competitors are closer to the cutting edge here. The scale stays at 19,2 kg with this model. That makes the E-Lyte 15 one of the light All Mountains.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Whyte E-Lyte 150

If you're looking for a comfortable ride for everyday use, the E-Lyte 15 isn't for you, because this bike only knows one gear when going downhill - full throttle! With a very good chassis, a very good handling and a good brake system, it puts most of the competition in its place.
