Like most American manufacturers, Yeti has long resisted the topic of e-mountain bikes. With the 160E C1, however, the company from Colorado has succeeded in creating a respectable first model.
Shimano motors remain at the top of the engine popularity alongside Bosch motors. No wonder, as evidenced by EP8. With torque under the motor cover, the support is generous. Nobody needs to fear steep hills anymore. Furthermore, the power of the motor control is regulated so that the start always feels dynamic,. The average range can become a problem especially for long mountain bike rides.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the 160E C1 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (12000) .

The good Fox chassis absorbs even larger roots with the calmness of a Buddhist monk. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. Bad brakes reduce the riding pleasure. Fortunately, this is not the case with the 160E C1. With their four pistons and large brake rotors the SRAM brake brakes good. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Yeti uses good equipment. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. Due to the short chainstays , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. For the good geometry, the developer team of Yeti definitely deserves props. Such a knack for detail in geometry is rarely seen. On the scale, the 160E C1 makes a good figure with 22,6 kg. Most Enduros are significantly heavier.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Yeti 160E C1

Overall, a very good geometry, a good chassis and a good brake system speak a clear language. The 160E C1 is a good bike with mini-downhill DNA With a guarantee of 5 years, the warranty is generous.
